Fix Qmail error – warning trouble opening remote

If you found that bunch of  ” Qmail error – warning trouble opening remote …” in your log file, this is indicating that the Qmail queue had corrupted ore messed up.

Don’t panic, this can be fix easily. Just follow below steps:-

  1. Download and install Qmail queue fix tool.
    # wget http://www.netmeridian.com/e-huss/queue-fix.tar.gz
    # tar zxvf queue-fix.tar.gz
    # cd queue-fix*/
    # make
    # make clean
    

  2.  Fix the queue
    # /etc/rc.d/init.d/qmail stop
    # rm -rf /var/qmail/queue/*
    # ./queue-fix /var/qmail/queue/
    # /etc/rc.d/init.d/qmail start
    



If you encounter below error while installing queue-fix, follow below steps:-

/usr/bin/ld: errno: TLS definition in /lib/libc.so.6 section .tbss mismatches non
-TLS reference in queue-fix.o
/lib/libc.so.6: could not read symbols: Bad value
  1.  Edit files [error.h]
    # nano error.h

  2.  Command and add line

    //extern int errno;
    #include <errno.h>
    Namecheap.com
  3.  Install the queue-fix again
    # make clean
    # make
  4.  Shall it still giving error, edit another 4 files  [alloc.c , queue-fix.c , substdo.c , substdi.c] and do the same thing in step 2 and 3.
